Airlift Review

Status: Released on 22 January

Airlift Movie Poster Rating: 3.5/5* Star

Star Cast:
Akshay Kumar, Nimrat Kaur

Director: Raja Krishna Menon

Good Things:
  • The real and untold story of India’s biggest rescue mission is certainly worth a watch.
  • Akshay Kumar delivered his brilliant performance in this Film.
  • Nimrat Kaur has a smaller role and lesser chance to shine. Yet, she manages to do a fine job.
  • Though the film is based on a real life event, its writer and director (Raja Krishna Menon) wrote very good draft with Suresh Nair, Rahul Nangiya and Ritesh Shah.
  • Cinematography is also very awesome.

Bad Things:
  • Even though the story is real, in spite of adding fictional characters such as the Major, it lacks a good antagonist.
  • First half’s screenplay seems quite weak. It would be better.
  • They fail to give you nail-biting elements which was quite easily possible given the plot.

Which time is the best (before interval or after interval)?
  • Second half would be a good time!

Watch or Not? :
  • Airlift is a perfect republic day weekend watch.
  • It’s not high on patriotism but help the right amount of it.
  • Also, like always Akshay Kumar never lets you down with films coming from this genre.
  • If you are a big fan of superstar Akshay Kumar and you like to watch those movies which are based on a real and true event then, you should give a chance to ‘Airlift’.

Airlift Review: The Final Word:
  • Airlift is definitely a one-time watch since it is story of an unsung hero and also India’s proud moment.
  • Akshay Kumar certainly gives an impressive performance.
  • I am going with a 3.5/5* for the film.
